Meeting Venue

The Host The 7th Meeting of the Coalition for Global Hearing Health will be hosted in Asia by one of its oldest universities, the University of Santo Tomas (UST). Founded by Spanish Dominical Friars in 1611, the University was witness to the development of the Philippines through its numerous alumni who shaped the country's destiny.

One with the Coalition in making ear and hearing health a global priority, the University through the UST Hospital established the Hearing and Dizziness Center in 1995 to be the first Hearing International – International Federation of Otorhinolaryngological Societies – International Society of Audiology accredited institution in the country. As the pioneering institution, it led to the introduction of ear and hearing health care concept in the country which then led to its opening of the first post-baccalaureate degree, the Master of Clinical Audiology Program at the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in 1999.

More than two decades since the first pillar of ear and hearing health was planted, the University will again hold an important role in the advancement of ear and hearing health care as host of ear and hearing health professionals from close to 17 countries as they gather in the continent of Asia. The University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and the Master of Clinical Audiology Program are grateful for being tapped as host to this momentous event when great minds meet to bridge the communication gap brought about by hearing disability.

The Venue As the largest University in the historic City of Manila, it hosts close to 40,000 enrolled students housed in ten college buildings and numerous purpose built complexes around the campus. Famous for its lighted walkways and Christmas adornments in December, it also boasts of its conference facilities located at the Blessed Buenaventura G. Paredes, OP (BGPOP) Building where the meeting will be held. With address at Espana Boulevard, Sampaloc, Manila, the University is bounded by AH Lacson Street on the east, Padre Noval Street on the west, and Dapitan Street on the south. Though easily accessible by public transportation, it is not recommended for foreign guests to take the use of public transport or jeepney for security and traffic reasons.
